Why demand Rama Temple on the sanctum sanctorum?

Figure 1: Image of Babri Masjid and upcoming model of Ram Mandir

A major political issue of the present Government is to build Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Belief is that the temple of Lord Rama should be built on that same place where He was born, that is the sanctum sanctorum.

But in other locations the Government behaviour is against maintaining temples at the same place. The Holy Rock at the temple of Dhari Devi was earlier located on the banks of the Alaknanda in Uttarakhand, whose original image is given below.

Recognition of Dhari Mandir

The Government has supported the construction of the Srinagar hydroelectric project which led to making of a lake in which the Holy Rock (शिला) was submerged. It is believed that Adi Shankaracharya had worshipped at the Holy Rock. The idol of Dhari Devi located in front of the Holy Rock has been uplifted and relocated on a new temple made on the pillars at the same as seen below.

This dam has been started after the BJP Government came to power in 2014. Question is this: If the BJP Government is committed to maintaining the sanctity of the sanctum sanctorum of Ram Mandir, then why not maintaining the sanctity of the Holy Rock at Dhari Devi?

On one side, the BJP is spreading a movement in the entire country to make a temple at the sanctum sanctorum in Ayodhya. On the other hand, they have willingly submerged the Holy Rock of Dhari Devi. The reason it seems is that the commercial interests have dominated at Dhari Devi. The hydroelectric project that led to the submergence of the Holy Rock. The BJP has willingly submerged the Holy Rock at Dhari Devi to push the commercial interests.

Here, we would like to clarify that the subject matter is not of production of electricity because there are many options like solar energy for power generation but there is no alternative to the Holy Rock.

The BJP is now going further. It is believed that the idol of Dhari Devi, which has been uplifted, flew down from Kalimath near Kedarnath and landed near Srinagar. It was then installed on the top of the Holy Rock. Now the BJP’s eye is on the Kalimath Temple which is situated on the banks of Kaliganga. we can see the video of Kaliganga here.

Kalimatha on Kaliganga

Kalimath Temple is situated on the banks of the Kaliganga River. It is believed that Goddess Kali has killed the Demon Raktbeej in Kalimath. There is a divine kund at the Temple covered by a silver plate as seen in picture below. It is believed that the Goddess Kali disappeared in this kund after killing Raktbeej.

The BJP Government is planning to put Kaliganga in a tunnel. She will become dry at Kalimath just as the Alaknanda has become dry below Vishnu Prayag as shown in picture below.

The water of Kali Ganga will be taken out of Kali Ganga upstream of Kalimath and taken to the power house downstream of Kalimath through pipes. There, electricity will be made from this water. Below we are giving a picture of the pipe through which this water will go to the power house and of the equipment lying nearby which will be used to build power house at this place.

Our Temples are built near the rivers. The spiritual power of Kalimath will decrease due to the drying of Kaliganga.

On one hand, the BJP is stirring the movement in the entire country to make Ram Mandir at the same place and on the other side, the Holy Rock at Dhari Devi has been submerged and Kaliganga is being dried at Kalimath.

BJP should protect the sanctity of all Temples and not pander to commercial interests at its convenience; or it should abandon the movement of Ram Mandir.
