Sadguru believes that we need to plant trees along the Rivers.
Rally for Rivers Main Objectives

The main purpose of the rally for Rivers is to plant trees.The three main problems of River Ganga—as of other rivers of the country—are encroachment, pollution and exploitation of water and sand. Major problems of River Ganga are the Hydropower Projects, excessive drainage of water for agriculture, construction of inland waterways and pollution. Rally for Rivers is silent on such major issues of the Rivers. We can also see a report of Rally for Rivers, which has not been discussed about the revival of Rivers.The purpose of Rally for Rivers is to distract people’s attention by hiding the real problems of the Rivers.
According to Jalpurush Rajendra Singh, the contract for planting trees are signed with different State Governments and Rally for Rivers. This tells of a commercial dimension of the Rally. Therefore, we request to Rally for Rivers to clarify its position on Hydro-Power Projects, removal of water for irrigation, pollution, and inland waterways. And not to become a participant for killing the Rivers by hiding such major issues of Rivers by the name plantation.
