Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditynath has planned to hold international seminar to find ways of cleaning the Ganga. Photo above shows information about international seminar in Uttar Pradesh. However the top seven IIT’s of the country had made a Ganga River Basin Management plan in 2015 and submitted it to the government. They had suggested that a policy of zero liquid discharge should be implemented. All industries should be required to clean and reuse their water effluent until it became extinguished. They should not be allowed to dispose even a drop of water outside their boundary. All the municipalities should be required to use sewage treated water for irrigation and not dispose it in the river. Question is that instead of implementing these straight forward recommendations, how will holding new seminars and making new strategies help in cleaning the Ganga.
